King Tiger 1:16 – # 69 4

Schyssta hyllor.

Alla bumpor målade och dekalerade. Alla ammo-rack grundmålade, laverade och träådrade. Var ställde jag den där Vodkaflaskan nu då?

Nice Racks.

All ammo is painted and decalled. All the ammo racks are base painted, washed and wood grained. Now where did I put that Vodka bottle?

Färgen på mässingsdelarna matchar inte inte hylsorna, så jag får blåsa på lite Vallejo guld här.

The colour of the brass photoetch doesn’t match the shells, so I’ll have to airbrush on some Vallejo Gold here.

De här skotten är airbrushade i botten, ser bättre ut. Nu kan jag montera alla rack och ammunitionen, så gör jag de sista finputsningarna med vädring och målning ”på plats”. Sparar tid o möda.

These shells have already got their bottoms brushed (!), looks better. Now I can finally mount all the racks and ammo, the final painting and weathering is easier and more clever to do ”in situ”.

    Hi Hasse,

    Not yet ammo crazy?
What colour did you use for the top of the shells?
And do you have ammo left over? Or photo etched bottoms short? Something is not matching the instruction. The 44 numbers are correct. The eight also. The 16 numbers are reduced to 14. Same there?

    Marc.

    Hi Marc!
Oh, man, I’m sooo ready for the Looney Bin, please lock me up!
You mean the the exact Vallejo hue for the ammo tops? I can look that up, if that’s what you mean.
    Ammo count: the 44 – check, the 8 – check, the 16 – reduced to 14, yep.
The photoetch bottoms need to be switched, as cleverly noted (I totally missed that at first, now correct): PE-B1 on ammo C and PE-B2 on ammo A and B, giving 20 left over PE-B2. I guess these could be used on the hull ammo C shells, as they are not very visible sitting against the firewall.

    Hi hasse

Let me know the colors of the ammo tops…
    Until the next time,

    greetings Marc.

Lets see: The yellow ones Vallejo Model Color 953 Flat Yellow with a pinch of 882 Middlestone (not 100% sure it was Middlestone I used. Anyway some warm, green-grey color to shift the pure yellow).
The green ones 886 Green Grey (I’d add a tiny drop of blue if I had to do them again).
The black ones 950 Black mixed with a little 972 Dark Flesh and plenty of 510 Gloss Varnish. Polished with graphite powder on a fine cotton from an old T-shirt (not a trace of loose fibres, those fell off 20 years ago!).
Graphite pen (5B) on all the projectile rings.
I’ll probably give them another wash, do some ”Hollywood effects” with Printers ink, some scruffs and scratches, and pigments, and they’re done. Forever!
    /Hasse
