Gillar känslan på den här. Hade i och för sig föredragit en större och mer avancerad muralmålning men jag förstår att det kan vara besvärligare.

The mural quality pretty much sets the time frame. In the 70s they usually were simpler, done by locals and depicted recent happenings.Today whole communities gather money to afford local artists and even taking in artisits from abroad to do the murals. Many are quite elaborate.
The colours mark the territory clearly. Green, white and orange on the city side Derry and West Belfast, and red,white and Blue, on the water side Derry and East Belfast. Another common trend was to paint the kerbstones,light poles,etc. See image in the link below. These weathered naturally and often are seen in a worn state while the murals were kept in a better state as they were looked after by and "pride" of the local communities.

Fått på lite grus och lösa tegelstenar samt några grästuvor på plats också. Satte upp en propagandaplansch också.




Taket är tillverkat av en bit kartong med limmade trekantslister. Ovanpå la jag en självhäftande aluminiumfolie för att efterlikna bandsträckt plåt.
Målat, chippat och lite streaking. Är inte helt nöjd – det känns inte riktigt rätt, men det får vara tills vidare. Funderar på om jag ska tona ner rostfläckarna något?

Jag tycker du ska vänta med att tona ner rostfläckarna till allt är på plats. Då syns det mer o de sticker ut.

I övrigt ser det sanslöst bra ut. Särskilt med tanke på att du gjort så mycket själv. Det är både vackert och kreativt.

I have no recollection of ever seeing that type of roofing in Ireland. Until the 90s, Ireland was a relatively poor country and imported metal was expensive. Roofs were mostly tiles and slates (tiles on more modern houses), or even corrugated tin. As it rains so much, roofing would need to withstand the constant wet and damp conditions. If this type of roofing was used, it would have been more affluent areas and definately not nationalist areas where your grafitti sets this scene. This type would be very unusual.
Are you working from a reference image ..or just a fictionous general scene?

Result of poor research from my side I assumed traditional metal sheet metal roofing was common on city buildings in Ireland as well, but now I can see that slates seems to be mostly used, also in the cities.

Well, I guess I just got a couple of evenings of additional work in front of me to make a new roof. Just have to figure out a good material to use for slate tiles.

Tillverkade en enkel dörr i plasticard och lite grövre ståltråd som handtag.



Text adderad. Försökte först att tillverka egen mall för bokstäverna, men visade sig vara svårare än tänkt. Slutade med att jag fick köpa en bokstavsmall.

Ritsa skåror i Plastic Card med lämpligt avstånd. Skär sedan i remsor och lägg omlott.
Kan skymtas hur jag gjorde här, men eftersom mina skulle vara av trä så gjorde jag även träådring med sandpapper, något du inte behöver men kanske en spricka här och där eller någon kant som har slagits av?

Det borde helt klart funka. Gör man lösa bitar så kan man ju också lägga ett par stycken lite på sniskan. Tack för tipset. Ska kolla lite om det går att hitta plastark med lite textur, annars får det bli att repa själv.
