This is my first post on this forum.
I was wanting to build my Marivox 1/72 SAAB 17 as a S17BL recce version. i was trying to find info on the camera windows, so I can add them to my model. Does anybody here have any info on the camera windows?

Re: SAAB S17BL cameras
Hi,
I'm no expert on the S 17BL but are the windows the same as on the B 17B? I have a couple of pictures (walkaround) of the Saab B 17B that you can find in the exhibition at Flygvapenmuseum (Swedish Air Force Museum) at Malmen.

I think the window is at the very bottom in this picture..

..and here

The chain-rail arrangment you can see might be a camera installation holder, but I'm not sure.
Curiosities..aft comparment seat.

You can find some more here.

Sorry I'm not 100% sure if this is what you are seeking, as I said I'm no expert on the Saab 17.
EDIT: I will try to rotate that last picture...
Cheers
Robert

Re: SAAB S17BL cameras
Her is a picture of the camera installation.
There were three hatches. One for vertical shoots and one on either side for oblique shoots. You see all three in the picture.
This has nothing to do with the observers two windows that are shown on most drawings and pictures.

Thanks for the welcome and sorry for the late reply. I thought I would automatically get notified of replies to my post. I just subscribed to my original post.
I see I have a few replies, and was also emailed by a forum member (Moderator?).
Best Regards,

Thanks for your reply. After I registered for this forum, I had managed to find your Photobucket page via a Google search. Many excellent photos on the Saab 17. I will have to take the time to look through your other folders.
Best Regards,
Larry

Thanks for the link to the fascinating picture. I went to the site, and searched for more pictures. I found a few more that were interesting. Now I just need to figure out the approximate size and location of the windows on the bottom of the aircraft.
Best Regards,
Larry
