Måla vitt på fordon

Jag har blivit tillfrågad om att måla en CV9040 som den såg ut i Liberia, dvs vit. Jag har byggt och målat mycket modeller och dioramor men aldrig målat ett hel vitt fordon.

Någon som har lite förslag eller tips eller tabbar att undvika. Jag tycker generellt att vitt är en "svår" färg då den inte alltid täcker så bra.

Min tanke är att grundspreja den ljusgrå och sedan spreja vitt i tunna lager tills den är vit. Jag har ingen airbrush utan tänkte köra med sprejburk.

Grunda med silver är mitt tips eller tom svart/silver/vitt om det är olika färg på plast, resin, ets, aluminium etc

En silversprej alltså. Stort tack! Modellen är Hobbyboss CV9040C, den är beige i plasten. Då borde det räcka med plast, silver och sedan vitt? Inga aftermarket prylar är tänkta utan bara modellen straight out of the box.

I would recommend painting it like the real thing ... Swedish dark green and then white. Using silver first and then white might work for white aircraft, but doesnt feel right for panzers. If you had an airbrush I wouldnt even recommend white .... I would add some other colour to reduce the "white" affect. If it it is summer ... use a warm colour red-brown, even German WW2 dunkelgelb. If it is a winter scene, use colder colours, use blue, green, grey, etc. As you dont have an airbrush, spray white on top of green and then add filters to tone down the white.

Ok ok ok , jag svarade på frågan om att måla just vitt men Franks svar ger nog en bättre modell.

The vehicle would be a Swedish CV9040 that was used by the Swedish UN troops in Libera a few years ago. Very good ideas and input! I planned on white and then wash and dry brush to simulate the dust and earth tones in Libera, and also to "tone down" the "whiteness".

Ok. Hey Frank. I do not understand why one would paint an underlying color darker than the what the main color would be? Whats the point. Please explain as I am still learning how getting the right paint effect works.

The underlaying colour will/can affect the result of the lighter base coat. Its better to use the green as thats what the way the real vehicles were painted. The darker colour can also be used a type of pre-shading to give the impression of shadow in the recesses. Weathering could also show some scrapes allowing the underlaying green to show through. A small corn sandpaper could be used to lightly sand along protruding edges to give the affect. Its not a rule ... its what I would do.
